Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

Sejak pertama kali menginjakkan kaki di Syracuse sebenarnya saya sudah membaca tentang restoran ini di TripAdvisor dan Yelp. Nah kebetulan kami sedang merayakan satu tahun pernikahan, jadilah saya dan suami menyempatkan diri makan siang di sini.

Menu yang kami pesan datang dalam porsi yang luar biasa besar.. Kalau menurut menu sih 14 oz alias 396 gram. Ajegile, steak di Ranch Kitchen Jakarta yang 300 gram saja sudah membuat kepayahan..

Suami memesan New York Steak Strip dengan side dish macaroni salad dan fresh cut fries. Itu masih ditambah 2 corn breads. Saya sendiri memesan West Texas Rib Eye dengan side dish mac and cheese dan real mashed potato with gravy. Dua-duanya porsi raksasaaaa!

Masalah rasa, sejauh ini steak ter-enak yang pernah saya coba. Holycow Steak, Gandy Steak, Ranch Kitchen, semua lewat dibandingkan steak yang ini. Sayang porsinya terlalu besar untuk perut orang Asia. Lihat saja ekspresi suami saya sebelum dan sesudah makan 😀

Steak Holycow

Holycowsteak.. Steak Hotel.. Holycow.. Whatever!

All I know is I love the juicy taste it has. My favorite is always medium-sirloin-mushroom-sauce. Not to mention its free-refill ice green tea. I know that the previous owner has broken their partnership. But who cares? This young-beef steak still has its heavenly taste.. Nyamm

Joni Steak

Today I decide to invite my colleagues go out for a sumptuous lunch. Not a much luxury, actually… but still more splendid than any restaurant around my office.

Early in the morning I sent this e-mail with this subject: Defect Mercury #1234. Two of my friends are vendor that hold in charge to check, verify and fix the error. Hilarious thing is: she checks the log after receiving my e-mail, thought that there WAS a real defect. Gotcha, Jovita!

A funny friend of mine replied:

 

I know that they’re seldom have a lunch at Joni Steak. So there we were! I withdrew some of money via ATM, since I ran out of cash and I thought that it will cost X rupiahs. I was a little bit surprised when paying the bill and knew the amount was only 1/3 of the amount I withdrew.

In my humble opinion, Joni Steak is a suitable place to treat your friends. The place is roomy but not too crowded. Some of reviewer loves the taste. Me thinks that it’s not bad and not good also, hehehe. Why don’t you give Joni Steak a try, by the way?
