After commencing a thorough investigation (on official websites of Blackberry operators in US and also long and enervated chat sessions with their online sales support), I eventually gather notes that are related to Blackberry tariffs in US.
The notes is as follow:
T-Mobile
Gadget: can be used in every unlocked BBs, free SIM Card
Dataplan: USD 60.00 minimum (unlimited talk, text, data) per month
TOTAL (include tax): USD 64.80 per month
AT&T
Gadget: can be used in every unlocked BBs, SIM Card is sold in price of USD 5.95
Dataplan: USD 20.00 minimum (300 MB data package) plus USD 39.99 minimum (450 minutes talk) per month, but text-messaging will need another USD 20.00 to get unlimited package
TOTAL (include tax): USD 6.43 (initial cost) + USD 92.82 per month –> for texting, you have to spend USD 21.60 more per month
Verizon
Gadget: can be used only in Verizon Blackberry (minimum purchase USD 99.99/9330 model)
Dataplan: USD 40.00 (smartphone line access) plus USD 40.00 minimum (300 MB data package) per month
TOTAL (include tax): USD 107.98 (initial cost) + USD 86.40 per month
Sprint
Gadget: can be used only in Sprint Blackberry (if you’re lucky, you can get Curve 3G for free online)
Dataplan: USD 79.99 minimum (450 minutes talk, unlimited text, data) per month
TOTAL (include tax): USD 86.32 per month
Boostmobile
Gadget: can be used only in Boostmobile Blackberry (minimum purchase USD 100.00/9310 model)
Dataplan: USD 45.00 minimum (BBM only, unlimited text, data) per month, and have shrinking payment term (minus USD 5.00 after 6 on time monthly payments, minus USD 10.00 after 12 on time monthly payments, and minus USD 15.00 after 18 on time monthly payments)
TOTAL (include tax): USD 108.00 (initial cost) + USD 48.60 for 6 first months + USD 43.20 for 6 second months + USD 37.80 for 6 third months + USD 32.40 per month after 18 on time monthly payments
Virgin Mobile
Gadget: can be used only in Boostmobile Blackberry (minimum purchase USD 154.99/8520 model)
Dataplan: USD 35.00 minimum (300 minutes talk, unlimited text, data) per month
TOTAL (include tax): USD 167.39 (initial cost) + USD 37.80 per month
But of course intangible plusses (related to signal strengthness, reliability, MTBF, customer service level, etc) from all above operators is excluded of above notes. So, reader’s further discretion will definitely be needed.
