Though there’s no accounting for taste, I bet no Indonesian don’t like pempek. Most of us loved the taste. I’m not a chef nor have I ever been a big any traditional food fan but sure I can’t resist this one. Having never been fortunate enough to have a trip (business nor pleasure) to Palembang, where this delightful food belongs, I have to be satisfied by taste this at any places in my town.
Pempek is savory crispy small fishcake that originated in Indonesia. It is made by combining ground fish (tengiri) with tapioca flour. Pempek is served with sweet and sour vinegar sauce. Usually the sauce made of brown sugar, garlic and vinegar.
